If you have an older program which is crashing under Windows XP, but worked well under a previous version of Windows, try changing the compatibility properties for the program:
- Right-click the program icon on your desktop or the shortcut on the START menu for the program you want to run, and then click PROPERTIES.
- Click the COMPATIBILITY TAB, and change the compatibility settings for your program.
Note: If the program still does not run correctly, check with the manufacturer for program updates or patches. For games that use Microsoft DirectX®, make sure you have the latest version of Microsoft DirectX, as well as current video and sound card drivers.
